Hi Dominique! Unfortunately, there are no direct flight from Lyon St-Exupéry to Florence; you will have a stopover (depending to the airline you choose, at Rome or at Zurich); you can check flights easily using www.expedia.com or just googling. It will be quite expensive as there are no low cost flight to Tuscany. But you could fly with easyjet to Rome (easy and cheap) and then take a train from Rome to Florence.

Regarding trains, there is a night train from Dijon, it is a very long journey, but you will sleep on board : departure around 6:00pm, arrival around 7:00am; Check schedules and fares (about 120/150 euros) on SNCF website: http://www.voyages-sncf.com

Dominique, I guess your best choice would be to take a train from Geneve to Milan and then Milan to Florence. It'll take you about 6 or 7 hours from Geneve to get there.
